• What happens to unlisted or unsold items?
  

  We don’t accept an average of 40% of items sent to us in Standard bags, and 15% of items in Premium bags. About 38% of accepted items don't sell in their listing window. We're committed to extending the lives of these items by:

    Marking Items Down

    We gradually discount your items to improve their chance of selling. Discounts are capped at 20% for items in Premium bags.

    Sending Your Items Back

    Any items not accepted from a Premium bag are returned to you by default, but you can choose to have them reused or recycled instead.

    Reusing and Recycling

    We partner with ethical organizations to reuse or responsibly recycle the rest

• What are listing and return windows?
  

  The listing window is the length of time your item has to sell.

  Lower-end brands (59% of items sold) have a 30-day window for Standard bags, and a 60-day window for Premium.

  

  Higher-end brands (31% of items sold) have a 45-day window for Standard bags, and a 90-day window for Premium bags, because pricier items usually take longer to sell.

  

  The return window is the length of time the buyer has to return your item.

  Buyers can return items within 14 days of receiving them. If your item is returned, its listing window will continue from the day that it originally sold. If the item sells again, you’ll receive the earnings as soon as the item ships.

• How much will I earn for my items?
  

  You earn a percentage for any items that sell within the selling window. Our earnings rate is based on the final selling price of the item and ranges from 3%-80% for higher priced items. Certain brands do not qualify for earnings. The service fee applies only once you earn enough to cover it. You will not be charged separately.

For example, the RealReal accepts just 5% of the brands we accept, and we offer higher earnings on items that sell for over $30.

  We’re an easier solution than taking clothes to a consignment shop.

  When you sell your clothes on ThredUp, there’s no need to schedule appointments or wait for in-person evaluations. Just fill a bag at home, send it in, and we’ll handle the rest—making it a simpler, more flexible way to clean out your closet.
